Class Fourteen
A draft of your Adaptation Narrative is due today
Let’s take out our journals and detail the process you undertook while composing this paper. What were the steps? When and where did it happen? Also, what are you most pleased with? What are you least pleased with about this first draft? (10 mins)
Group Conferences:
In your groups I want you to come up with a two paragraph statement that summarizes your answer to the following questions: Why should anyone be interested in your adaptation narrative? What is the point of the narrative? (10 mins)
Group Presentations
Workshop
In groups, I want you to do the following: We will be looking at three different papers today.
Phase One:
1) Scan paragraph structure and total paper length
2) Check for run-on sentences and comma splices, also for sentence fragments
Phase Two:
3) Check for a thesis statement
4) Check for specificity
- Mark three descriptions where you think the author could go into more detail
Phase Three:
Provide a two paragraph peer-assessment of the draft on the back of the paper.
Phase Four (after all work shopping has been done)
Re-drafting non-specific areas in our papers.
Locating specificity in the text
Homework:
Read and annotate the next 50 pages of Tuesdays With Morrie.
